On April 16, 2019, Governor Polis signed Senate Bill 19-181 into law. Senate Bill 19-181’s amendments to the Oil and Gas Conservation Act (“Act”), §§ 34-60-101–131, C.R.S., direct that "The commission shall promulgate rules to ensure proper wellbore integrity of all oil and gas production wells. In promulgating the rules, the commission shall consider incorporating recommendations from the State Oil and Gas Regulatory Exchange . . . ." This rulemaking will change the rules and regulations to implement the legislature's directive to update and amend the Commission's wellbore integrity rules.
