Regulation
State regulation refers to the rules and guidelines established by state agencies to implement and enforce the laws passed by state legislature. These regulations provide detailed guidance on how to comply with state statutes and help guide state departments and agencies in their operations.
ECMC has many methods by which we regulate the development and production of oil and gas, deep geothermal resources, the capture and sequestration of carbon, and the underground storage of natural gas in a manner that protects public health, safety, welfare, the environment and wildlife resources. We hold operators accountable to our protective rules and we take enforcement action when an operator is non-compliant.
