Operators must continue to obtain a Form 2A from the state

Denver, CO (Jul. 22, 2019) - The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) today issued a Notice to Operators to inform Operators that Form 2As (and Form 2s) continue to be required by the COGCC irrespective of whether a local government has enacted 1041 land use regulations. The Form 2A is the COGCC Oil and Gas Location Assessment permit that governs surface location and concerns and the Form 2 is the Application for Permit to Drill that governs down hole drilling concerns.

“The COGCC encourages local governments and operators to continue to work with our Commission and staff as SB 181 guidance and rulemakings are further developed over the coming months, said Director Jeff Robbins. “Together we can develop regulations which are both good for Colorado’s public health, safety and environment and the future oil and gas operations in our state.”
