Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission Announces Online April Hearing

COGCC Hearing held April 29

Denver, CO (Apr. 24, 2020) - The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) invites the public and stakeholders to attend the Commission’s April Hearing online. COGCC Director Robbins will provide an update to the SB 19-181 rulemaking schedule and the Commission will have discussion following.

At the April 29 Hearing, there will be no public comment taken; however, the public may submit general written comments to cogcc.hearings_unit@state.co.us. These comments are always provided to the Commissioners before each Hearing for their review. To submit comments specific to the pending SB 19-181 rulemakings, the public should use the COGCC online portal for rulemaking.

“Our Hearing will be conducted online in order to comply with the Governor’s ‘Safer at Home’ orders,” said COGCC Director Jeff Robbins. “We want to hear your voice and encourage everyone to be involved in rulemaking. Please use the online portals designed for COGCC’s SB 19-181 Rulemakings to provide your specific comments to the Commission.”

  • Location: NOTE: There will not be an in-person location meeting for this Hearing.

SB 19-181 ensures that oil and gas development and operations in Colorado are regulated in a manner that protects public health, safety, welfare, the environment and wildlife resources. The COGCC is in the midst of reviewing its rules and procedures to evaluate what changes are required to reflect the new law’s requirements. On Nov. 21, 2019, the Commission adopted Flowline rules. The Commission will take up additional SB 19-181 rulemakings at future Commission hearings.
