Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission Decision on K.P. Kauffman Company, Inc.

Denver, CO (Feb. 02, 2023) - At the Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) hearing on Feb. 1, 2023, the Commission made a unanimous decision on the Compliance Plan Agreement with K.P. Kauffman Company, Inc. (Operator No. 46290), Docket No. 201100261.

The decision included:

  • Terminate the Compliance Plan Agreement which was created November 2021.
  • Immediately suspend all certificates of clearance.
    • If the operator is in full compliance with COGCC rules and regulations in six months of the Order being issued, then the certificates of clearance will be unsuspended.
    • If the operator is not in full compliance with the rules and regulations in six months of the Order being issued, the operator’s license to operate will be revoked.
  • All outstanding penalties have been unsuspended and due in 30 days of issuance of the written Order. If the payment is not received within the 30 days, the operator’s license to operate will be revoked.
    • The total penalty assessed is $2,014,530; KPK paid $79,500 Nov. 21, 2022. The total remaining assessed today for the operator due in 30 days of the written Order is $1,935,030.
