Commission stayed the Extraction Draco Oil and Gas Development Plan (OGDP) (docket No. 240100004)

At the 11/15/25 hearing, the Commission stayed the OGDP pending a full alternative location analysis of Proposed Alternate Location #4. Stayed means that the Commission has indefinitely halted the proceedings until the Operator can provide further analysis. Use the efiling portal to view the full docket. Cumulative Impacts and Enhanced Systems and Practices Rules

ECMC adopted Cumulative Impacts and Enhanced Systems and Practices Rules on 10/15/2024. Cumulative impacts refer to the combined effects on public health and the environment from the incremental impacts of a proposed oil and gas operation, alongside those from past, present, and foreseeable future developments. The rules will be submitted to the Secretary of State to be published in the register soon. The rules go into effect 12/15/2024.

Deep Geothermal Rules Order 1R-143

The Deep Geothermal Rules were published in the Colorado Register today, September 10, 2024. Pursuant to C.R.S. § 24-4-103 (5), "A rule shall become effective twenty days after publication of the rule as finally adopted. Once a rule becomes effective, the rule-making process shall be deemed to have become final agency action for judicial review purposes." Therefore, the Deep Geothermal Rules will become effective September 30, 2024.
